"Happy Mother's Day!!"
Clifford and Cordelia hold out a dessert they'd made for Meredith. Murray Sweets was open for Mother's Day, so they'd only had time in the morning to say it briefly before opening. But now that the cafe had slowed, both Cordelia and Clifford were able to give Meredith a few Mother's Day gifts.
"Oh! Thank you!"
Meredith smiled at them, they'd made her favorite: a simple but nicely decorated caramel apple angel food cake. There were a few sugar decorations on top too!
"Oh, and this is from Arius. Since he's with his Dad today he asked me to give it to you."
Cordelia holds out an origami lotus flower, decorated with a small origami butterfly on the inside of a petal. Meredith smiles softly, careful with the paper as she moves to set it behind the counter where it wouldn't tear or get messy.
"Oh, that's lovely. We better finish the desserts we're making for them before they get back."
Cordelia nods, already beginning to resume her work around the café. Arius and Takashi wouldn't be back until after dinner, they'd gone down to Octo Canyon for the day.
"...Today must be rough for them..."
