10/22 UW Transgender and Gender Non-Binary (TGNB) Community Conversation
Hello all,
UW Medicine's Health Equity department and the UW TGNB Health Program are hosting a community conversation on Tuesday October 22nd from 6pm to 8pm. This is an opportunity for the TGNB community and their caregivers to tell UW Medicine about their experiences with the UW health system as TGNB identified folks and/or their caregivers. What worked well, what can be improved upon, and what their ideal experience is when accessing healthcare are some of the discussion points. This is also an opportunity to share with UW Medicine, why one may avoid the UW system and or the reputation that it has, or lack thereof, with the TGNB community. The Health Equity department has created a Health Equity Blueprint to inform our pathway to health equity as a system, and as a part of that blueprint, the feedback given in these community conversations is reported back and incorporated into the decisions made by UW Medicine. Because of that, I would love to get the word out as much as possible, so that folks can attend and share their thoughts or stories (positive or negative), as this a unique opportunity to directly impact the TGNB Health Program and TGNB healthcare at UW Medicine.
The event will be held at Lifelong, 1016 E Pike St 3rd Fl, Seattle, WA, 98122, US and is accessible by elevator.
Some of our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee allies will be on hand to provide child care if needed. Light refreshments will be provided.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Thanks in advance,
Sean
