Hello! Here's another exerpt that never made it into TGSO: Ze and Chilled finally adopting Cheesy.

"…Are you crying?" "No," Chilled blubbers, mopping his face with a sleeve, "I jus' got cheese stuck in my eye." "That doesn't even make sense," Ze says, and notices the stubborn set of his jaw. "Chilled, no. Nope. Nuh uh ah ah! We're not keeping him! Didn't you see what he did to that lady? He can't be trusted!" Chilled gasps. "The audacity! He's an innocent bean, untainted by the evils of this world! Look at him, Ze!" Cheesy snuggles up to his chest and gazes at them with big, watery eyes. The sparkles are back with vengeance. Ze folds his arms. "I'm looking! All I see is a duplicitous criminal mastermind." "So much like his father already," Chilled agrees. He seems to have forgotten all about the 'innocent' and 'untainted'. "And he's got you wrapped around his sticky little fingers," Ze groans. Goddamnit. He isn't going to win this one, is he? Cheesy squirms and reaches out to Ze with a pudgy hand and the biggest puppy-dog eyes he can muster, and says, in a soft, lilting voice,

"…Dad?" …Oh, this conniving little--

"Ze," Chilled says seriously. "If we don't keep him, I'm committing arson, murder and public indecency." Against his better judgement, he can feel himself melting. It's hopeless. It was hopeless from the moment Chilled brought the monster home with him like a stray kitten. And… okay, perhaps they wouldn't be model parents, but they would manage: they love each other; they're financially stable; they have their friends' support; yeah, disaster follows them like attractoids, but so much random crap explodes nowadays it's hard to say whether Cheesy would be safer in a 'normal' family; Chilled can't do laundry for shit and Ze burns half the things he cooks, but he can manage smoothies and salads and stuff, and Chilled makes a passable omelette (and pasta--he'd bring shame to his family name if he didn't know how to cook pasta), so between the two of them, they probably know enough to keep Cheesy alive. And they're both Evil: if anyone's equipped to handle a child with an Evil role, it's them. And well, what kind of boyfriend would he be if he let his worse half go streaking? Only he gets to see that, dammit. Ze caves.

"All right. He can stay."

I’m not tagging it as pr1 appreciation month anyway, since I started it way before the event, but it feels symbolic. Hope you enjoy! This story killed me.

And I guess I wouldn't mind some secret Space Opera behind the scenes 👉👈 :]

No worries! Drift Compatible is more about Transformers: Prime than PR, as in all the characters are from TFP. However, all the robots characters are now jaegers! The 'good' robots (the Autobots lol) can synchronize with a human pilot in the Drift, but only if the two of them are drift compatible (title drop lol). So they're very picky about choosing who can pilot them, kind of like how in Harry Potter 'the wand chooses the wizard'. This is bad, because the 'evil' robots (the Decepticons) are attacking Earth, and the world government still hasn't found pilots for many of the jaegers. Then three random kids stumble upon the super secret military base--the war is kept under wraps to prevent mass panic--and they just happen to be drift compatible with the very robots that need them. Cue shenanighans, hair pulling, and a good dollop of angst.

I actually have like four different documents fills with bits that never made it into TGSO, or that were changed to fit the story better! In the very beginning, the story was going to have the POV alternating between Ze and Chilled, before I realized that it would be better from a narrative standpoint to only have one (for the big reveal at the end). Originally the story would also feature more of Chilled's past, with his... familiar troubles, and also Tiff, who went by her Twitter handle 'Sparkly Chaos' and was Chilled's Actual niece. But I felt like that strayed too far from the rest of the story, so I cut it. Here's her introduction, though:

The next twist in their winding road of a relationship comes one day when Ze returns home to find a stranger in his living room.

He stares. She stares back, frozen like a deer in the headlights, her fingers still sunk in Hashbrown's fur where she was scratching him behind the ear; the useless dog is wiggling his butt and panting happily. The girl has dark eyes framed by thick-rimmed glasses, and a sheet of darker windswept hair falling down to her thighs. Her slight build makes those familiar features all the stranger. "…Chilled?" Ze ventures, on the off-chance the man turned himself female for shits and giggles. The girl stands abruptly. "You know him?" In lieu of answering, Ze glances behind her at the smashed window and the ceramic shards littering the parquet. There went the flower vase. The window frame swings back and forth on its hinges in the breeze. Its catch is scratched to all hell: looks like it took her a few tries to get in. Still, not bad for a high-schooler.

"…Who are you?" he asks. "Sparkly Chaos," the girl says, twisting the hem of her shirt. "I, uh, I'm looking for my--" she hesitates. "Uncle. I'm looking for my uncle."

So, *checks watch* one year later, I have finished Side A of my fanfic. If you like ZeRoyalChaos or are in general a fan of the Derp Crew/Private Recording One, shenaniganery, mystery and action with some genuine heart to back it up, check it out! In a world that’s a mash of Among Us, Town of Salem, Shellshock Live and the Private Recording One continuity, the fate of the Earth is in the hands of a gang of rebels with superpowers! What could possibly go wrong? Also, it’s very gay. That’s probably the most impostant part of this. The aliens are secondary, really. (Yes, I reuploaded the fic because of a massive scheduling mistake. It’s all good now!)
