While playing Codenames I took a turn as spymaster. My words that round were incredibly disparate and I was frantically trying to get more than one per round.
So I looked at my spread and inadvertently said, “Oh my god, that’s a bummer.” This got me scolded by the fucking rule police.
And my wife, on the other team, looked at the layout of 20-25 words (I can’t be bothered to look it up) and instantly exclaimed, “I know what you’re doing.”
“That’s impossible!” I said, blatantly ignoring our drift compatibility.
They started texting me and when my turn came I announced, “9/11, for two,” to make my team guess both “Plane” and “America”.
My wife held up their phone on which they’d written, “You’re going to say 9/11.”
