They’re in a wonderful mood today, he and the TARDIS. She’d gotten him off his cloud with the promise of BLOOD, and as they land, he can almost smell it. Blood, and something else, too, something more human, more time-y ...What is that?
It’s been years since he’d had a permanent human aboard the TARDIS. Not since the Ponds had to choose each other and leave him. Oh, he’d had his sport a few times every month, picked up some pretty thing, something gullible and cute and sent them scurrying through the TARDIS. They always ended up dead.
He took steps, deliberate steps toward the TARDIS doors and flung the doors open. The smell of blood is stronger out here. It makes him smile. There’s another, too, one he vaguely recognizes.
Long legs trudged through the sand, his coattails trailing behind him. He didn’t mind the heat. Kind of liked it a little bit.
It’s then that he spotted the curls. Those hips. That curve of a body that was made to slot against his just so.
