feeling very confused and conflicted to maybe have a light-touch plagirism (copying?? closer to copying??????) situation going on for my first ever finished fic
#edit: its less one to one than i originally thought which is a bit of a balm#clearly similar enough that i clocked it right away#but also different enough that i can see someone pulling on similar threads subconsciously#mine#pers#Original tags: its only one part the rest of the fic is entirely different#and i feel a weird amount of shame because the author is a better writer than me (fine) so i feel like i dont have the right to say smth#(irrational)#and there is shared inspo!! its not unreasonable!!#but like#tha-#i wrote that#that is the same way I described the same problem#And to be FAIR its an author who heavily influenced my fic!! i knew that going in and was worried they would think i was biting them#due to similarly descriptive language#and fic overall is very trope heavy and its a smaaaallllll space so there's a chance i accidentally took it from somewhere else#but it was a major trip to read someone else do:#'there was a problem/not actually the relationship was good/not perfect but good/the problem was wylans feelings'#like a week after i posted my fic with that exact progression and the author in question read and commented on it????#it just feels weird#deflating#and pokes at insecurity that i (until now) hadnt really been feeling :///#hbomberguy save me
