thoughts on wlw Riverdale ships (FOR FUN)
Betty/Veronica - canon, amazing longcon, i adore them so much. V literally drinks poison for her and then they confess their love for each other
Betty/Cheryl - i know they're cousins but Jason/Polly happened so... the scene in s1 when Cheryl is doing her makeup has a vibe to it. i'm into it. no idea what their relationship is in s7 but Cheryl does teach her how to masturbate which is a win in my book
Betty/Donna - Betty's second homoerotic villain relationship, i want them to hatefuck (or kill each other). in my head donna wanted to kill jughead so she could have betty to herself
Betty/Toni - wish they interacted more but i really liked them in early s7 when they were doing social justice reporting together. and toni comforting betty on her breakup was really sweet
Betty/Tabitha - i loved when they teamed up to find the missing girls. and the sequence of them high and dancing together made me ship it
Betty/Evelyn - Betty's first homoerotic villain relationship, there's tension there but i want it resolved with murder. they would never hook up
Betty/Ethel - ignoring 50sdale, i liked their interactions at the SOQM and G&G plot, wish they'd interacted more because they had a sweet chemistry
Betty/Agent Drake - in my head if the comet split the timelines and the s6 timeline continued, betty leaves archie to go hunt down killers with drake. also drake has such pretty eyes.
Veronica/Cheryl - at least we have the kiss and rum queens arc, they deserved to be canon as they would have been a power couple. also cheryl just has lesbian chemistry with any girl. and their homoerotic dance off for power. and that veronica is the one cheryl confides in about her suicide. veronica was s1 cheryl's only friend which is sad
Veronica/Josie - butting heads over music stuff but also teaming up? into it. s7's Josie episode really made me fall for them though. josie literally inspires veronica's career. in my head when veronica's a hotshot movie producer, she and josie fall in love working together and spend their lives together.
Veronica/Toni - the Call Your Girlfriend scene. that's it. wish they interacted more (Toni, Josie and Tabitha would be a fun dynamic)
Veronica/Alexandra - i think veronica likes intelligent capable women and i can see them working together or having a rivalry and being into each other. in my head they went to school (or college) together and have been complicated ever since
Veronica/Katy - i hope veronica cheated on chad with katy their entire relationship. these two are so sweet together and im quite fond of them. maybe katy was veronica's closet key or they experimented in school, who knows. but those two have something going on
Veronica/Agent Drake - someone wrote a fic once where they fuck because they both want betty and can't have her. i support that for them. i do not see them as an actual couple. just using each other for their own means
Veronica/Ethel - cute friendship in s1 and then the writers forget about it. don't ship it but wish they had spent more time together (ethel in general deserved better)
Jellybean/Britta - they were a background ship for a couple Bughead fics and i was sold on them. i know they've never interacted but i firmly believe Jellybean comes out in college. also it's just be cute
Cheryl/Toni - the flagship queer couple of the show in my opinion and i'm so delighted they are one of the two couples that are confirmed endgame. they deserve that. i hope 50sdale Choni find and adopt Britta in that world as well. Britta deserves happiness
Cheryl/Heather - very sweet first love and exactly what cheryl needed in s6. witchy lesbians for the win. i also really respect heather for stepping aside for soulmates. i hope Heather finds happiness
Cheryl/Minerva - art fraud power situationship, fun while it lasted but i don't blame minerva for skedaddling the minute penelope showed up and cheryl started down the witch road. love cheryl but "min min" is a terrible nickname
Cheryl/Josie - toxic yuri? the stalking was weird but made sense that fucked up cheryl didn't know how to handle her crush healthily. they had a sweet friendship in s1 where josie was ride or die for her. but i respect josie for telling cheryl to get lost post pig heart. i love the moment in 5x15 where cheryl tries to praise josie only for josie to shut her down because of the pig heart incident. also their Carrie duet is good
Cheryl/Polly - Cheryl's protectiveness over her in s1 (though i think that's more about jason's babies) and cheryl getting them elected prom queens is cute. also "pollykins"? in a show where "-kins" as a nickname usually indicates romance (or veronica's weird incest-y vibes with her dad). i noticed it show! i don't really ship it outside of "i want polly to have friends"
Cheryl/Toni/Hermosa - the rum dance scene, though the scene could be read more as cheryl/toni/veronica because hermosa is basically doing veronica drag.
Cheryl/Sabrina - just two witches having fun. also they're in the same softball league. GAY
Josie/Valerie/Melody - poly pussycats. i like it. wish they ever let melody talk. man the pussycats deserved better and i wish Return of the Pussycats had materialized into a tv show for them
Josie/Katy - they were roommates. been a while since i watched Katy Keene but i was kinda into them
Josie/Alexandra - similar dynamic to Josie/Veronica though i'm pretty sure there's an added jealousy element because they both are into alex cabot. dunno. i'm into it
Melody/Nancy - they have like 3 scenes together and they are adorable. would have loved that Pussycats spinoff CW, just saying
Bitsy/Poppy - The Witching Hours really gave me my Betty/Cheryl wish and boy did i adore it. one of my favorite episodes. i love poppy delivering her baby and giving her the tools to escape her husband. i wish that in the graveyard scene bitsy was there with thomasina waiting for abigail/poppy. in my head she was
Poppy/Velma & Poppy/Tammy - i just think Poppy should have seduced all the ladies in her club and freed them from matrimony. all their husbands seem like they suck
Abigail/Thomasina - old doomed ghost yuri gets to have sex in their descendants bodies to save the world. yes please. also witches (have i mentioned i love witchy lesbians?)
Toni/Tabitha - i think if they dated they could fix all of riverdale's social problems. i think they should be in charge. i'm pro toni/tabitha's union (heh get it?).
okay i'm done, if there's any i missed let me know and i'll give you my thoughts. this was inspired by me reading @musicalmoritz and @hauntingattheblackberrypatch fanfiction and pondering lesbian ships. also i watched The Witching Hours three times yesterday and cried so it's been on my brain.
lastly (and i swear i'm nearly done), some of my favorite lesbian musical moments
Candy Girl (pretty sure this is the best song from s1)
You Shine (both versions, check out the deleted Choni reprise, bonus in the musical it's a love duet between the main couple that Riverdale repurposes into the first Beronica duet)
Unsuspecting Hearts (the Chosie makeup duet, so pretty you almost forget the pig heart)
Do Me a Favor (ignore the men, this is Beronica fighting before they kiss and make up)
Sufferin' Til Suffrage (feminism!)
Out Tonight (nothing like your girlfriends rescuing from a skeevy dude)
Milkshake (the Pussycats are just homoerotic especially with Cheryl)
Candy Store (Choni fight and make it everyone's problem)
Dead Girl Walking (Peaches N Cream was so hot, i support Toni in her threesome venture but i do love Cheryl's Beautiful interlude talking her out of it)
Call Your Girlfriend (everything about it)
Sugar Daddy (i want this on repeat for a week)
Wig in a Box (i know this song is more centered on Kevin but the sleepover scene gets it on the list)
Nothin' But a Good Time
Cherry Bomb (most River Vixens performances have an energy to them, this is just my personal favorite)
Walking in Space (Betty/Tabitha in the bunker, ignore Cheryl's mom and her cult)
Stupid Love (i'm pretty sure this was part of her beef with Toni over the Vixens hence why it's here, also it's Lady Gaga)
Physical (Melody gets to shine!)
Get Up (poly Pussycats for the win)
Little Shop of Horrors (the Pussycat episode is just gay sorry, Alexandra/Tabitha/Toni is a trio i didnt know i needed)
Didn't I See This Movie (Cheryl makes a lot of songs gay, but also she's standing up to her horrible mother so that enhances the gay energy)
A Girl Before (i want this to be about Agent Drake)
You Are What You Wear (serial killer convention bachelorette party song, my most played Riverdale song, also all the women together is just *chef's kiss*. blink and you'll miss it but Betty holds up Cheryl's leg which has stuck with me as an image)
Toxic (Veronica literally blows a kiss to Betty who grins and catches it)
Ladies Who Lunch (Veronica making the Tangs wedding awkward is very kind of her and also leads to a sweet B&V moment where Betty tries to get Veronica to be a throuple (just wait a season Betty and you'll get your wish))
Private Dancer (i don't remember the context but it's a Toni/Tabitha duet!)
Rose's Turn (Betty fantasizing about being her sister while doing a sensual dance has an energy to it)
The Universe Inside (Veronica commissioned a love song for her best friend and then they make out mentally during it. GAY)
Friday Valentine (the sheer heteroness Kevin wrote in and makes 4 queer women sing swings it right around into being homoerotic, especially the physicality of Beronica. HAND ON HER CHEST)
Do You Know What It's Like? (Kevin redeems his homophobia with these beautiful song, Choni are incredible)
I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair (beronica sleepover with matching outfits and choreo and gay best friends, and then they nearly kiss before noted bisexual mary maiden andrews pussyblocks them, that's gay on gay violence)
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood (honorable mention, Gladys Jones played by Gina Gershon just makes everything gay)
Abigail tops 😏
i'm in shock with this scene from thabigail omg
why's that
