RIP Thad, I worked with this guy in the 90’s at MCA Music and I’ve got to say he was the nicest kindest guy. So shocked to hear he’s no longer with us. Life is cruel.

Last Week At The Crawl ...
Rarely are we busier at the office than in an announcement week – and, at this time of year, every week seems to be an announcement week! Exciting for you and for us, but possibly slightly longer hours for us. Suffice to say, announcing not just our excellent roster of daytime hosts and curators, but that for the very first time we’d be launching the Crawl with a marathon bill at the Koko on Friday night, with Death in Vegas headlining, meant a big day on Monday: we were frantically planning PR and press releases all day with our PR company, Zeitgeist – and come Tuesday we had features in Metro, the Daily Star online, Time Out, got a mention on BBC 6 Music, and were following the brilliant word-spreading being done by our hosts. This level of activity requires three things: cool professionalism, the finest coffee, and visits from lovely people. Fortunately, we had at least one of those things when Thad Baron of LIFT OFF fame popped into the office on Tuesday morning for a meeting, and impressed us all with super-human wakefulness given he’d been partying all night at Fabric, the young scallywag. He was outdone this week only by our chum Will, the finest flyerboy in north London, who turned up in the office to show off what are frankly the best metal dance moves this side of No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith. Dublin is a little further afield that west London, but that’s where Lisa was headed to on Crawl business this week. As she says in her own blog over at the Huffington Post, for the first time this year we’re expanding the Crawl brand to feature a Dublin event the weekend after our London festival. We’d have been jealous of her jetsetting ways if we weren’t too busy being overly excited about the bands she’s been making offers to. Watch out this week for more daily Q&A competitions – and hit us up on Twitter, where we’ve been getting some amazing feedback about the line-up so far. We love you all, although don’t take that as a proposal of marriage. You’ll only be disappointed.
