"Thadwick, If nothing else I can assure you that everything you deserve is coming you way." OH BOY
PNG for Thadwick Mercer!
I hope you like this as Neil put it “ little turd”, god bless this idiot. I have a soft spot for villains, and book three was quite the experience. I shall say no more.
Update on the scum bag self saving system style fan-fiction for him…
I actually wrote like 2,000 something words last night. It’s not Beta read, but it’s really funny to me that I have never wrote fan fiction in my life and I’m creating it for this series.
… my wife says it’s funny.
If you think I should post it let me know. I do not have the best grammar, but hey it’s been fun.
Also I have been an audio book only, so I was shocked to see how the systems font looks in the book.
It does make it easier to differentiate though.
Another prompt from the list on the main blog: I got to "Tower" and could only really think about the tower of the Builder in the Reaper Trial astral space, so good enough excuse to draw my take on Thadwick Mercer!
Design notes! I'm going to call the three versions Normal, Possessed, and Not.
Normal: I know Jason said "Shouldn't your hair be more oily?" but I still wanted to draw him with his hair slicked back. I'm still struggling a bit with Greenstone fashion, but I went with green (opposite the warm colors I like to draw Humphrey in) and a popped collar for extra douchiness.
Possessed: I gave him ashier skin tone and a bit of under-eye shadow since his body is kinda half-dead, but there's still a note about how he looks more handsome without the perpetual sneer. The square pupils and blocky halo aren't described in the book, I just like them.
Not: The energy vampire, which consumed the gold (or maybe diamond) soul that was protecting a sinister sword. I switched his outfit to reds to match the swords, with a slightly more Vertesse style since I figured he'd change from the brown cultist robes to clothes he got from a victim from Emir's crew. As of book 9, he hasn't been seen since book 6, so I still have that mental image of a slightly tragic, overpowered but confused new being with a familiar face.
