They were doing so well. They’d made it down the hall, albeit with the help of a cane and a hand on the wall. And then they tried to take the steps down to the next level and their legs gave out, leaving them sitting undignifiedly on the top step. They’re still there when Kairi arrives, and they sit, blinking at her until their brain kicks back into gear. “Oh. Hello. I didn’t expect to see you.”
