julian & sam have known each other the longest. they used to be a part of the same group before it fell apart / most members died. they consider themselves to be best friends, but have never really said this out loud. they depend more on actions than words.
though julian & sam are like family to jamie, he took to rayne the most. her caring, nurturing & protective demeanour was the easiest for him to adapt to. she's like an aunt to him & she's the first person he thinks of when he finds himself questioning his life or the world around them.
benjamin is the older brother of charlotte, but upon first meeting, it would be assumed that charlie is the older. he is quiet, introverted and not exactly built to survive such a cut throat living whereas she is loud, opinionated and determined to see this life through with her brother by her side... one way or another.
rayne & julian have occasionally been physical with each other between the sheets, though they have both agreed it doesn't really mean anything other than two friends scratching an itch.
jamie was found as an infant when he was barely two years old when julian & sam were a part of their old group. his parents were deceased and he was found crying his eyes out, unwell & alone. the group took him in & was raised by an older couple & was given their surname. his first name, james, was sam's idea: named after the author of peter pan. jamie was their little lost boy, and now they can't imagine life without this kid around.
