It is the second Sunday of Advent and I am preoccupied already. Waiting and preparation is no joke. How is your Advent preparation going? I am determined to continue to struggle through my preparation and work to conquer all of the distractions of this season, preparing myself for the coming of our Lord…
But since we are speaking of distractions (I said I was trying, not that I was perfect)… I am so freaking cold all the time now – this is not like me… I usually run on the warmer side. Apparently when you start losing weight you also start losing your body heat. I’ve been perpetually cold for weeks and now it has snowed and they are calling for a cold front. I am not sure how I am going to make it all winter in this… I mean I do every year but this year is especially tough with this new cold thing. (My only saving-grace is that I now have a family member to visit in the South where yesterday she sat on the beach and it was 74… must. book. trip.) So today I ventured out to find some warmer clothes that fit a little bit better than what I have in my closet and came across the most fabulous pants/leggings at J. Crew. They are wool-sweater material and super warm. They are also ridiculously expensive for something only my dog will see. But I decided to splurge anyway and when they rang-up they were on sale. Totally meant to be. So, as materialistic as it sounds (yep, I know) I am thankful for my new sweater pants that were on surprise sale. (And now I shall go back and re-read my Advent reflection for the day.)
