That's some next level Elf on the Shelf 😂😂😂
We did a pretty good job last night keeping up with all the comings and goings of superheroes and villains during “Avengers: Infinity War” at the Crest Theater.
There were times one or the other of us didn’t catch a particular line or times resulting from the fact that Kimmer’s not completely up to speed with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Resulting in alternately one then the other of us whispering in each other’s ears.
Linzy just walked in to ask how we felt after the movie. And I’m like
Wow.
I loved this movie. I was surprised at the depth of moments it contained. To name a few: the confrontation between Peter Quill, Gamora, and Thanos; the terrible choice Scarlet Witch makes; Gamora and Thanos at Vormir; Spiderman at the end.
And Thanos.
Best. Villain. Ever.
I found him to be a great, fully rendered character, capturing moments of evil as well as those of tenderness and determination.
I love that he didn’t lose at the end of this movie.
Oh he’s gonna lose. Just not now. It’s an essential twist in the story unfolding in this Marvel Universe that’s on its way to after. To what happens next.
And why.
Of course the movie came out at the end of April and right now we’re just barely starting August... so most of the plot was known to us. The evening, in fact, was littered with one character or another making their entrance whilst Kimmer whispers in my ear
“He’s gonna die...”
or
“She’s gonna die.”
Yeah.
Knowing the plot and experiencing the movie are, fortunately, not the same thing and so we didn’t feel like the whole thing was spoiled for us.
It wasn’t.
Instead it was a revelation. A surprise that this tale featuring such a massive cast could find heart and depth and laughter on such an epic scale.
Well done all.
Seriously.
Gonna see this one again real soon.
