Entry 67 - A startling discovery

As I sit here in my ship, on the dark side of the planet Eephaills JF-V C4-603 1 F, I am staring at what I believe to be some type of Thargoid artifact. I've heard much about Thargoids in my travels across the galaxy, but never truly encountered anything Thargoid related until right now.
It's a bad time and place for it. I'm almost at the nebula I intended on visiting, as you can clearly see from the pictures, but I'm also well over 100 jumps away from Colonia, and if an actual Thargoid comes after me, I'm screwed. This is an exploration ship, not a battle-ready one, and I have no fighting skills to speak of. I'm a sitting duck.
Thankfully, I've heard that things only really get dicey for Commanders if they pick up and store these types of artifacts on their ship. I have no way of dragging this thing into my ship as it's too heavy and I have no real space in my ship for it regardless, so there's no risk of anything bad happening to me (not that I'd even think of putting it in my cargo in the first place). But this artifact showed up on my navigation system as a "nonhuman signature" and there are two of them on this planet. Which means Thargoids are nearby this nebula, and I need to prepare myself mentally for the possibility of coming across a few.
I have two other planets in this system to visit as I've hit the jackpot for biological signatures (plantlife, not Thargoids), but I'm on edge now. I hope things will go well for me. Crossing my fingers (and my toes).
Update: I went to the other two planets to scan the biological life on them and one of the other planets also had a non-human signal on it. It seems that this system has had a significant amount of Thargoid activity in it at one point. I've scanned all the biology I can in this system, so I'm going to move on now…but I hope I will be okay.
