ALTHOUGH if i were to be serious, it’s because she has a lot of depth that isn’t immediately visible on the surface
she comes across as a typical trope-y yandere stalker girl that you can fob off as one note and boring, but most of her supports go out of her way to point out that she’ll go the extra mile for the rest of the shepherds
she helps gregor connect with his dead brother, she tells nowi about her parents (although she lies about that one to protect her feelings, as nowi’s parents are dead)
she offers to help lon’qu get over his crippling fear of women, and her being subjected to frederick’s intense workouts is fucking hilarious
she also plays the role of impromptu medic, despite her natural affinity for the opposite
all in all, she’s a pretty nuanced and three dimensional character, and i came to appreciate that a whole lot about her whilst i was playing. i was even probably the most active tharja defender on the fire emblem subreddit until i stopped visiting it (it was casually transphobic and very passive aggressive a lot of the time, and i didn’t have the energy to deal with that on a regular basis tbh)
she has her flaws, and future timeline!tharja is a topic for another day, but the main playable version of her that we see is nowhere near as bad as her reputation amongst the fandom and i luff her a damn lot
