HELLO. i read 'the sword of damocles is swinging' in one sitting while curled up in bed and i feel so warm. so content. the way u write hawks has influenced the way i see canon and is now a big part of how i see his character? i just. i LOVE how u walk the line of hawks being dangerously competent, but also falling apart :') it's the exact type of hurt/comfort i never knew i needed. thank u for putting this out, i'm excited to check out ur other writing!!
Um, excuse me, I love you. qAq <3 This actually brings me such joy to read - I always delight in bringing people actual Feelings (TM) with my writing and that’s absolutely what I consider a prime achievement when it comes to my stories, and I’m also really glad that you liked my portrayal of Hawks’s hypercompetence (at his job) and total incompetence (at self-care)! It’s one of my absolute favorite character archetypes, and hearing that it influenced how you see his character in canon is a compliment of the highest order. I’m so happy you you liked the fic! <3
I’m just getting into the swing of starting med school classes, so we’ll see how much time and energy I have for writing, but I do have the sequel (Nearly Headless Doesn’t Count) outlined and in progress, as well as a number of other Hawks and My Hero Academia works both posted and in my WIP folder. :D
