I’m rewatching the end of 8x11 over and over and wanted to draw attention to Emerald’s series of expressions here.
“I think you’re wrong, by the way.“ Emerald is looking at the group until they look to her. she averts her gaze and continues.
“I highly doubt you’re in the same place you started.“ she puts her weapons away. maybe to keep herself moving, maybe to keep proving she’s not a threat. Emerald peeks up from under her bangs, as though to check what kind of reactions she’s getting.
“Look, I’m just gonna be super pissed if you all finally decide to give up the moment I switch sides.“ Emerald hesitates for a moment, steeling her nerves and finally facing everyone head-on.
“Awww.” world premiere of Emerald’s pouty face.
“Or like, whatever.“ everyone is at ease, enough to poke fun at her. Emerald can’t seem too vulnerable (not yet) and closes off again.
and last but not least, Emerald starts to smile as, at long last, someone reaches out to accept her.
