Swedish Things Part 1-High School Graduation
Let me tell you about the swedish version of the high school graduation. First, you got to wear a white hat with your name on it. It’s rather expensive, and you will never wear it again.
Then you will have champagne breakfast with strawberries (You will notice that alcohol is a very big part of this event)
Then you will litteraly running out of the school screaming and singing “För vi har tagit studenten!” (’Cause we have graduated!”)
Then, along with your classmates, you will climb upon an lorry platform with lots and lots and lots of beer on it, because it’s a tradition to be really, really drunk. And to shower each other with it.
Then the truck (That’s been decorated with bedsheets with more or less original jokes written on it) will drive you and your mates around your hometown in a victory lap, kind of.
All of this to celebrate you’re now out of school and unemployed.
Bizarre? Very! Amazing? Hell yeah!
