I accept @sukeats invite for #ThatBladeLifeChallenge to show how much blading means to me and how it has affected my life by posting one rollerblading photo or video per day for 10 days. I nominate @_bluntlysavage to show me what's up 7/10 There are certainly ups and downs in life and this was a life changing event. Saturday November 28, 2009. I had just got my hands on some new skates in the mail and I had set them up all ready to go. It had been a few weeks without skating and a new setup in my trunk with warmish weather in November meant I had to go break them in. @daniellefebre and I went to a few spots to warm up then drove to Edwards gardens where I'd seen this drop rail earlier in the year. Dan set up the camera and I did the drop 4-5 times trying to find the right landing. The last time, my wheel stuck in a rut in the ground, with my right leg staying still and the rest of my body rotating around. Writhing in pain, I stumbled up to my car only to realize I dropped my keys in the forest. After 30 minutes of searching and hopping on one leg, we found the keys and drove home. After hospital and doctor visits, the result was a fully torn ACL and badly damaged meniscus. A full reconstructive knee surgery and 1 year of rehab with the most patient and loving woman helping me recover resulted in me being stronger than ever. Ironic, isn't it? (at Edwards Gardens)
