20: The coolest item you ever got and how you came to possess it:
Honestly, one of my favorites ever was a war hound I had as a halfling monk. Don’t remember what I named it, but it was huge and delightful, and I rode him that entire campaign and loved him dearly. He took ages to grow up enough to be useful, but when he did, I rode him into battle and jumped off his back, and it was delightful. and I had to leave to go to uni and leave my playgroup behind, and my DM created this wonderful image of my character riding away on this massive boulder of a dog. <3
21: You’re favorite NPC and how your players reacted to them:
The conceit for this character is actually that the Duchess of a city is disguising herself to go out and talk to adventurers and get back into the rough and tumble of her former adventuring days a little bit. She disguises herself as a man named ‘Duke.’ My PCs’ were able, through an ungodly high perception check, to discover that Duke was wearing a disguise ie a fake beard. They have concluded that the duke and the duchess are having an affair.
I can’t wait for the reveal.
29: The best/worst character concept you’ve ever heard:
My ‘worst concept’ pet peeve is characters that don’t have any goddamn reason to be adventuring. when you make a character, they should be looking for work and at least willing to cooperate with others for a little bit- otherwise you, the player, are being kind of a dick.
That wasn’t a specific example, because I actually genuinely love every PC, and my personal favorite at the moment is a dragonborn monk in my playgroup with the pirate backstory bc hey, you know what’s useful on the open ocean is being able to hit really hard without weapons or armor. And you know what’s terrifying on the ocean: someone who can freeze your ship in place.
