pen and paper: do you prefer writing by hand or on a device? why?

first drafts live in the notebook, babey! it feels less Serious than a word doc, so it's how i psyche myself into letting the first draft suck.

& i just like hoarding my old notebooks, cuz they're tangible evidence that I Am Writing, Really. plus, it's an excuse to buy sexy moleskines and fountain pens >:3c

backstory: how did you come to love writing?

well as a kid i really liked playing sailor moon oc's with my friends and then one day i realized i could write our games down and i've been writing ever since.

houghton: what’s something you love that people compliment your pieces on?

i could steal your answer and say characterization because that's so GRATIFYING but in the interest of interest i will answer something different sooo

SYMBOLISM especially when people comment on it unprompted like write me a book report YESSS. i know even my intentional symbolism can be... pretty opaque (i'm working on it) so it's always nice when i manage to do it in a way people pick up on and find meaningful.

1. If you're an author, how many WIPs do you currently have?

[sweats] technically 3. a white collar fic, a tmfu fic, and a dragon age fic, but I'm really only working on the dragon age one with any regularity OTL

I've learned my lesson this time around and I am never posting a multichaptered work before it's actually finished ever again!!!! the ability to revise the fic as a whole > instant validation (and also I can yell on twitter which satisfies the Feedback Itch a little)

3. Do you prefer canonverse or AUs?

You'd think AU but! I really enjoy canon-adjacent stuff? Post-canon, or canon-with-alteration type stuff. I think it's interesting when writers use established lore to make an AU if that makes sense. (I am so weak. for lore.)

9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?

Arranged marriage!!! A good arranged marriage fic usually comes with a decent helping of Noble Politics, which are like my guilty pleasure.

Here you can find some I have already mentioned, but some others include this amazing vegan gulasch I made a couple of weeks ago, and oh man I love some honey and chilli figs those are amazing, thai red curry with pinaple and tofu (yes I am that monster), avocado and spinach pesto with pasta,  and recently I’ve loved making some red lentil chilli without meat -drools- 

On another note, I also very much love avocado. It sort of became a joke in my family, whenever I come to visit everyone stocks up on avocado because apparently I eat it with everything whiCH IS A LIE.

As I said before I really am not a huge candy fan but what I do love as a nice desert is some fruit instead suuuper tasty.

ok I realize I have been saying this for a while now BUT I am going to go ahead and say it again because this is my biggest dream!!! meet clarita, born and raised in puerto rico it seemed that the ocean was her home for it was where she spent the largest part of her life. as a child, it was terrifying, the waves crashing down, she understood that it was a force to be reckoned with. as a little girl, she would sit in the sand, whilst her mother braided her hair and it was the most comforting memory until the very day her father took the little girl out on a surfboard. he would sit behind her, do all the work and she would stand, riding the waves, ecstatically. ever since then, little has changed, responsibilities were added such as going to work, writing papers for university, but her life still revolved around the ocean. she often claimed that she couldn’t properly breathe freely until she was sitting on her board waiting for the next wave to roll in, to allow her to roll out.
