WIP Wednesday (9/10) | Mafia Front Restaurant AU (Part 373)

NEIL

Because Neil isn't a total moron he knows something's been bothering Jean all day. At first he foolishly assumed it was Andrew that had him in a bad mood. Something he'd said or the fact that he's going to be joining Kevin's team. (Anyone with eyes can see Jean is territorial. Neil thinks bats can detect it too. Jury's out though.) But the longer they sat there the more obvious it became that Jean's issue was with Neil.

Probably he was just filled with residual worry or he was upset Neil ruined that suit. (Jean liked that suit on him, Neil could tell.) But it wasn't like he had much choice when Oliver turned the whole affair into a literal blood bath via human pinata over his head. He'll explain it later all later. Maybe. Eventually. Try to figure out where the suit came from and get a replacement.

No, Neil tells himself. It couldn't have been that. Jean wouldn't break out the silent treatment over ruined clothes. Hm. Well. No matter what was bothering him, it seems he's gotten over it. Neil lets Jean dry his hair, secretly thankful for the gentle touches after being ignored all day.

Jean's hands disappear and Neil opens his eyes to find Jean staring down at him, displeased. It seems Neil must be at least part moron. He's missed something. What did he do?

WIP Wednesday (9/3) | Vampire Andrew AU (Part 297)

KEVIN

These have perhaps been the longest three minutes of Kevin's life. Holding hands with Andrew while the vampire kneels on the floor and moans around mouthfuls of Neil's stupid blood is a torture in and of itself. He could be drinking from Kevin right now, if he would grow up and get over his bullshit once-a-week rule. He curses himself for agreeing to such a stupid deal. He wouldn't have, if he'd known this would be his fate. He would've insisted Andrew drink from him whenever he needed it instead of capping his fangs until Saturdays.

Of course, Kevin didn't know back then he'd end up liking it so much. Or that his feelings for Andrew would morph from fear to... This. But still. 

The number on the stopwatch ticks upwards bit by bit and Kevin wonders how long Andrew usually drinks from him. When he's got fangs in his skin it simultaneously feels like seconds and eons. Pleasure and fire in his veins and, fuck, why has Andrew never knelt in front of him like this? (Actually it's better he hasn't, Kevin probably would've combusted and burned Andrew up with him.)

Suddenly Andrew's hand spasms in Kevin's. Kevin takes his eyes off the stopwatch and looks at Andrew's face. He can't tell whether that was the signal or not. It wasn't really a squeeze, just a twitch if anything. Kevin uses the back of his hand to brush Andrew's short bangs back.

"Stop." Andrew says into his head. It's a whisper and a shout at once. Kevin flinches so violently he drops the stopwatch and has to fish it up from the floor. Four minutes—

Thank you for the well wishes! To TL;DR it went great - asides from a teeny thing (without dumping medical info on you, there was an Easy way it could go and a Complicated way that meant a bit more recovery time and pain in the immediate aftermath and my body chose to force it to go the Complicated way) but I’m okay!! Hoo Boy is MF!Jean about to lecture Neil. I would also kill someone if they had lied that much to me, so yeah good luck Jean, make sure Neil is disarmed first!

(Side note: the way Jean and Andrew are going on the ultimate rivals-to-lovers arc is SENDING ME. I love it. Keep it up!!)

Ah!! I'm so glad! That's such good news! <333 When I saw your ask I really wanted to get your part out real fast so you could read it but the depression had been weighing me down real bad the last couple weeks so I wasn't able to. T^T

Also: Yeah. Lol. Jean is sitting there thinking of ways to make Neil pay for his lies. You know, without actually causing him immense harm. Because he loves him so very much!
