What time period is Brother Bear supposed to be set in? I always thought the movie took place during the Ice Age, but there are still glaciers in Alaska, so probably not the Ice Age. My dad says possibly a couple hundred years ago, but there are mammoths in the film, so probably a bit further back in time than a couple hundred years.
Brother Bear takes place near the end of the ice age, so at least 10 thousand years ago.
And when it comes to mammoths going extinct it really depends on the subspecies and part of the world, the very last ones we have evidende of went extinct in 1650 B.C, so definitely a lot longer than a couple of years ago. But in Alaska it's estimated to be about 12 thousand years ago that the woolly mammoth went extinct based on the fossils that were found.
