19. What is your giffing process like?
Oh god, it’s honestly so many steps haha.
I get my clip from either a full episode/movie I already have on my computer, or downloaded off of YouTube. Then I import it into Photoshop, crop, add my sharpening action to it.
Then I look at what kind of scene it is and figure out which coloring I already have that works best. I have one super bright one that works well for DCTV, I have a more saturated one that works for Mr. Robot and really dark scenes, and a more neutral one if neither of those look good.
So once I pick the coloring that works for that, I usually play around with the Brightness/Contrast and the Color Balance to get the gif how I want it. Then I add my text if it needs it, and export.
34. A set that took you a long time/was really hard but you’re really proud of how it came out?
Pretty much anything that has to do with making a fake gifset (adding fake margins to make a gifset look like it has more than 10 gifs). So that HoC one I mentioned earlier, this Supergirl one, and a few others I can’t remember off the top of my head. They’re a fun challenge, but after so much exporting and matching up frames and stuff, it gets insanely tedious. I do end up being really proud of them once they’re done though.
