Hi there! I’m the Slytherin mod, helping out with some Gryffindor requests since you’ve been waiting so long!

Looking at the list of Pottermore Patronuses, there are several variations of dog patronuses, based on different breeds – since you didn’t specify a breed, I will assume yours is a Mongrel Dog?

Dogs in general are associated with bravery, devotion, and protection. Mongrels (sometimes more kindly known as “mutts” or “mixed-breeds”) are dogs with the ancestry of multiple breeds, without direct and intentional breeding by humans. They come in all shapes and sizes and in all variations of color. Although there are a few people who scorn mongrels in comparison to purebreds, mongrels are actually considered to be much healthier and sturdier compared to purebred dogs. A conclusion that this analyzer will preach like the Gospel as the perfect reason to go ADOPT ONE FROM THE POUND rather than intentionally breeding puppies just to get a purebred. I mean, seriously, mutts are adorable. Look. Here’s an old one of my baby.

Having a Mongrel Dog as your Patronus means that you find comfort in resilience.
