Writing Prompt
She wiped the blood from her cheek and picked up her sword. His eyes followed her blade as she pressed it against his neck. “Don't move”
My story:
She stared at him as he dove to pick up the triton, yet she was faster. She wiped the blood from her cheek and picked up her sword. His eyes widen with fright as they followed her blade as she pressed it against his neck. "Don't move." She breathed, then the training simulation ended. Tanya and Edmund stood in this position for a while, both hearts pounding in sync. She drew her sword back, and Edmund fell to the white floor. He knew that she was much stronger than the rest of the apprentices and if she used her magic too, she would be a feared opponent. "Come on Edmund, training is over today." Tanya called to him, her robes fluttered a bit from the cool air conditioning. Edmund nodded and followed her, she grabbed his hand and ran. She ran past the dining hall, through the dorms and out the entrance. "Hold on, stop," he said at the door, "We can't leave now, it's not even the weekend." "Edmund, we have to go." "Why?" He was puzzled, but slightly scared because of her tone. Tanya's light skin and green eyes shine in the moonlight. "Edmund," She beckoned him over, "We can see, the others are blind, oblivious to what this academy is doing. We are trained to kill without mercy; I've seen the warriors that come out of this place, they don't have a mind of their own. There's something so wrong here." Tanya paused, "I found a group who is looking into this. If we go now, we can stop this academy. Now come with me." She smiled and stretched her hand out. "No no no." Edmund backed away, his mind turned malicious and his eyes blazed a bright orange from the brown they once were. He couldn't trust her, she was crazy, and with that thought he ran at her. His mouth wide open as he grabbed her by the robe, brought her close and bit into her throat, taking a gigantic chunk of it out. Tanya gasped and dropped to the ground, pooling blood around her. The colour drained from her face and she fell to her side, dead. Edmund stood there, he twitched then stood rigged as two high up academy council men walked over. "These chips work well." One grinned as he knocked on Edmund's head. The other began to perform magic to remove Tanya's bloody body. "Too bad she didn't have one, she was an amazing apprentice." Said the second.
"Don't worry, they will all be as good as her with the chips."
