Waiting on the back to arrive, then Bigwig’s getting listed on Etsy.
“Sliflay Hraka, U Embleer Rah!”
Had a hard time coming up with an actual title, since "Bigwig drawing 2 attempt 4" wasn't that catchy. I take it any one seeing this who's here for my Zootopia related (or aircraft related) artwork is probably asking what the hell this is. Well, a few months ago I saw Watership Down. I liked the movie alright, but didn't really find it that great and decided to pick up the book, because I was very interested in the concept itself of rabbits having their own language, religion and well, culture as a whole, but still figured it wouldn't be anything too special. This is now my favorite book. I can't really describe why it works so well, but it just does. I'm rambling, aren't? What was the topic again... Oh, right, "what the hell is this?" This is a drawing I made of one of my favorite scenes in the novel, the moment in which Bigwig (Or Thayli, in the orginal Lapine) becomes a certified badass. I can't say much more without giving spoilers (Or sounding like I'm saying gibberish to those who have never heard of this book). I relied quite heavily on reference for this, since previous attempts at drawing rabbits in anything other than a Zootopian style have been... less than successful, to put it nicely. In fact, I tried my best to match this screenshot:
As for the title, poorly translated from the original Lapine, it means "Eat shit, you damned chief!". I was going to use a line from the book, and us such it could only either be that one or "My Chief Rabbit has told me to stay and defend this run, and until he says otherwise, I shall stay here", which while perhaps a more important line in terms of character development, is a bit too long for a title, isn't it? Besides, it's a crucial line with no subtitles or footnotes that can still be easily understood by readers, which in itself says one hell of a lot about how great the world-building in the novel truly is.
Let me know if you guys want some more Watership Down related stuff!
gosh these kits turned out gorgeous. not quite what i was hoping for, but still pretty. the jelly bunny looks like it may be a broken magpie? wild

hazel and bigwig, taking some time to enjoy the little things in life. these are actually panels from a comic; i ended up putting in a lot more effort than i intended, so i’m posting the art for those who don’t want any stupid jokes ruining it.
