Legit question for you guys:

Why do you think Lisa is so excited about showing people s3?

For me it’s not just bc it’s obviously cool they got to finish it as they intended to, but also bc she likely got to live her fantasy of semi-destroying the monarchy (at least in fiction) by making Wille choose to resign from his role and making sure August can’t take his place. She is too vocal about her opinion not to let it influence her writing I think.

Would love to be proved wrong bc I still think he is too young to take such a big decision but ultimately it will be either love or duty and I don’t think he is giving up Simon.

I don't mean which you'd like to see actually happen in S3, as I realize it's unlikely any of these will occur within the scope of the show. Rather, which outcome would you prefer the YR universe to move toward?

It’s powerful to see someone choose happiness and get out of a bad system instead of staying stuck in it for the sake of other people. I can see the appeal of a Queer King (in media) but I see more appeal in someone putting an end to their suffering and choosing themselves and their loved ones.

In real life I'm against monarchies, the problem with ending the monarchy in the show with Wille is that it makes it seem like queer people can't be monarchs, like "queers destroy everything", which is not a message I'd want. That said, I be satisfied with any ending regarding that.

I don't want Wille to abdicate simply because that's not a narratively satisfying ending to me? Because he's too young to actually legally step down from the line of succession, all he'd be able to do is declare his intention to hopefully step down in two years when he's 18, if the Royal Court don't pressure him otherwise in the meantime. That doesn't feel like a big enough ending to a show that deals with such grand themes.

No, I don't want Wille to abdicate - I want the monarchy DESTROYED. My hope for S3 is that it ends with a massive constitutional crisis and the monarchy burning down in flames while Wilmon smile at the camera. <3

(This is in canon, obviously - in fanfic, I'll happily read both Abdication Wille and King Wille or anything else as long as it's a good fic!)

Anyone who wants Wille to not abdicate does not love Simon or Wille and doesn't know shit about the monarchy and how insane and fucked up the whole concept of it is.

The only good monarchy is a dead one.

I think Lisa is gonna use yr to show her stance on monarchy (specifically the one in Sweden) and will make Wille resign from his role in s3, even if it won’t make much sense as he is only 16 and much too young to make such a big decision.

The way she talked about it recently makes me think this even more.

One of the first interactions Simon and Wille had was Simon saying something like”we all know who the biggest beneficiaries are” looking at Wille.

And we know Lisa doesn’t like monarchy. And that Wille is the protagonist. S2 was about him realizing he can break traditions.

It can go in many directions. Keeping monarchy as it is will be a surprising move. It will be changes to it making it queer but making it queer doesn’t change the fact they would still be the biggest beneficiaries. That must also change somehow.
