I had just a whirlwind trip from Orlando to Chicago to Zurich to Florence. Everything went as planned, but it was still quite a task. I was surprised by how much nicer the transatlantic plane/flight/atmosphere was as compared to flights within the U.S.
I'm not thinking clearly — I only got four hours of sleep Saturday in preparation for sleeping on the long plane ride. Then I only slept one hour on the plane. Even though it was nice, it was a hard seat to sit in for 8.5 hours after a morning of sitting on hard seats.
So since I can't think, here are some pictures. I'll post them all on Picasa but I'll put my favorites here:
From the plane ride over the Swiss Alps! Beautiful stuff.
Somewhere closer to Florence, but not quite there, I don't think.
The plane that carried me on the last of three total flights.
A view from my bedroom window.
The Arno (someone was kayaking in it shortly after this).
A nearby piazza (have yet to start learning all their names).
