I never really got into the Arrowverse, not in a "I hate it" way so much as "I am just not interested" way what is your take on it?
Underrated and overhated.
I’m not going to deny that it has plenty of flaws—particularly the core shows of Arrow, Flash and Supergirl, I’m a MUCH bigger defender of Batwoman and Legends and I won’t argue about their quality as ADAPTATIONS because they’re very bad in that regard—but man.
They do have their moments of greatness, and it’s for those moments that I stuck around.
I’ll also note that many people who praise Smallville often criticize the Arrowverse, and that’s always bullshit. Smallville has all the exact same issues. All the soap opera crap, long periods of formulaic stories, weird adaptation decisions, drawn out storylines, and the costumes were SO much worse.
The hypocrisy is infuriating.
Anyways, I want to say again—Batwoman and Legends are AMAZING.
Not strictly Arrowverse per se but Stargirl is great too.
Oh yeah, and whatever else you can say about it, it was a massive accomplishment. Outside the MCU it’s the only other successful live action interconnected universe. It built its own justice league, far more successfully than the DCEU. The crossovers were magnificent productions—not always in their stories, but absolutely in the sense of them happening at all logistically.
I don’t know how anyone can look at 5 ongoing shows connected in a consistent continuity with regular crossovers that spanned a decade culminating with Crisis on Infinite Earth—which was an accomplished of unimaginable scale that brought together nearly every corner of DC history—as anything other than a success.

————————
You had always been a ray of sunshine, bright and full of energy—Mia liked to call it your “golden” personality. It was one of the things she loved most about you, even if it made her a bit wary sometimes. She worried for you constantly, wanting to keep you safe. That was why Mia preferred to keep your relationship low-key, at least until she felt certain you wouldn’t be put in any danger because of her. You never minded—you loved Mia, and if staying under the radar was what it took to be with her, you’d do it without hesitation.
But now, as autumn swept through Star City, bringing colder temperatures and harsher winds, you found yourself feeling less energetic than usual. You hadn’t bundled up enough a few days ago, and now you were paying the price—your throat hurt, and a cough had started to settle in. You didn’t want Mia to worry, though. She already worried about you so much, and it was just a little cold. So, you tried to push through it, flashing her your usual smile even though it lacked some of its usual spark.
After a few days, however, Mia noticed. You couldn’t hide the fatigue in your eyes, and your usual energy was clearly missing. When she asked if you were okay, you tried to brush it off, assuring her that everything was fine, but Mia wasn’t convinced. She frowned at your response, her eyes narrowing slightly in concern.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” she asked, her voice soft but insistent.
You hesitated for a moment before sighing. Lying to Mia always made you feel bad, especially when she looked at you like that. You gave her a small smile. “Okay, fine,” you admitted. “I’ve had a bit of a cough, but it’s getting better. I’ve been staying home more, so it’s not a big deal.”
Mia’s eyes widened slightly, a flash of annoyance crossing her features. “You’ve been sick and didn’t tell me?” she said, her tone lightly scolding.
You winced slightly, giving her a sheepish smile. “I didn’t want you to worry. It’s just a cough.”
Mia let out a sigh, shaking her head. “You know you can’t keep things like that from me,” she said, her voice softening. “I just want to take care of you.”
You nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. “I know, I’m sorry.”
Mia’s expression softened further, and she let out another sigh, this one filled with exasperated affection. “Alright,” she said, her tone gentler. “Go sit on the couch and put on whatever your comfort movie is.”
You blinked in surprise, her sudden shift catching you off guard. “What?” you asked, confused.
“Go,” Mia said, giving you a gentle nudge. “I’ll make you some tea.”
You hesitated for a moment before nodding, giving her a small smile as you made your way to the couch. You grabbed the remote, scrolling through the options until you found your comfort movie—Tangled. It was a bit silly, but you loved it, and it always made you feel better. You pressed play, settling back against the couch as the opening scene began to play.
A few minutes later, Mia joined you, a steaming mug of tea in her hands. She handed it to you, her eyes soft as she watched you take a sip. “Thank you,” you said, your voice sincere.
Mia gave you a small smile before sitting down beside you, pulling a fluffy blanket over both of you. She wrapped her arm around you, pulling you close as you snuggled against her. As the movie played, you slowly began to relax, the warmth of Mia’s body and the soothing sound of her breathing making you feel safe and comforted.
Eventually, you found yourself lying down, your head resting on Mia’s chest as her arms wrapped around you. The exhaustion from the past few days caught up with you, and your eyes began to droop, the movie becoming a blur in the background as sleep took over.
Mia watched you, her eyes soft as she stroked your hair gently. She knew she couldn’t stay angry with you for long—it was impossible when you looked at her with those puppy-dog eyes. She just wanted to keep you safe, to make sure you were okay. And now, as she held you in her arms, she felt a sense of peace, knowing that you were here with her.
It was late when Sara Lance returned home, her footsteps quiet as she entered the living room. She paused when she saw the two of you on the couch, her daughter fast asleep in Mia’s arms, the movie still playing on the TV. A soft smile spread across Sara’s face as she took in the scene. She had always been wary of anyone who got close to her daughter, but seeing Mia like this—so gentle and protective—made her realize just how much Mia cared for you.
Mia looked up, her eyes meeting Sara’s. There was a moment of silence before Sara gave her a small nod, her smile warm. Mia returned it, a bit awkwardly, her cheeks flushing slightly before Sara turned and made her way to her bedroom, leaving the two of you alone.
Mia let out a soft sigh, her gaze returning to you. She leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. “I love you,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
And as she held you close, the warmth of your body against hers, Mia knew that she would do anything to protect you, to keep you safe and happy. You were her light, her sunshine, and she would never let anything take that away.
Fact of the matter is…I’m willing to forgive a lot of bad writing if the cast is hot
