Slowly drawing out icons and making Toyhouse profiles for the clans from my Warrior Cats setting: The Barrowlands.

When I finish all the faces for a clan I make a family tree setup for them, so here's SongClan and GhostClan, the two northern clans of the setting.

There are a lot of missing cats and a lot of adoptions because the four clans are new, just resettling after a massive raid by Twolegs (a major trapping and rehoming project of the feral cat population in the Barrowlands Historical Reserve) took large numbers of their fellow cats. Most of the older cats were taken. Families were split (for example, Jaggeddapple is a cousin of Luckweb and Wolfspot; Stonepaw has cousins in both DeepClan and RootClan; Fawnwatcher has a cousin in DeepClan; etc, etc, etc).

Also several of these cats were rogues or outsiders who joined the Clans for safety in numbers after the Twoleg raid (example: Silverfreckle & Goldflake; Lilyspark & Bristlecall; Sharpglare; Comfreyriver; and more)

I've finished headshots and general family trees for SongClan, one of the Warrior Cats clans in my personal setting of The Barrowlands.

Most of the kits are adopted because the four clans are new, just resettling after a massive raid by Twolegs (a major trapping and rehoming project of the feral cat population in the Barrowlands Historical Reserve) took large numbers of their fellow cats. Most of the older cats were taken.

Cream = Leader, Grey = Knights, Black = Squires, Red = Hunters, Pink = Apprentices, Green = Apothecaries, Purple = Mediators, Brown = Den-Minders, and White = Kits.

Haunting Places in ASOIAF: The Barrowlands

Located between somewhere and nowhere in Westeros, North of the Neck and alongside the King's Road on the way to Winterfell, are the Barrowlands. The vast hills that crowd the landscape, cloaked in ominous cold mists, are fabricated "barrows," the ancient gravesites of the First Men and their rulers- even those of giants, some whisper.

House Dustin, the Lords of the Barrowlands and bannermen to House Stark, trace their descent from the First King, who was said to have ruled over all of the First Men in his time. Their sidgil bears a dark, rusted crown in reference to this well-substantiated claim.

The old tales recorded in [Maester] Kennet's Passages of the Dead claim that a curse was placed on the great Barrow that would allow no living man to rival the First King. This curse made these pretenders to the title grow corpselike in their appearance as it sucked away their vitality and life.

I feel like every gig I’ve seen this year so far has been “one of the best gigs of my life” - I mean, check this list: the Jesus and Mary Chain, Sleater-Kinney, Wire, Super Furry Animals, and now Ride. But I think Ride - even though they aren’t even my favorite band out of that list (though they might be closer now?) - was my favorite. I’ve experienced a lot of transcendental moments related to music, but being right up front for the closer, covered in sweat and beer and singing along to Leave Them All Behind - that was a moment beyond moments. Damn.
