Charles Kemper (photos from 1937-1948) came to Hollywood from Oklahoma with the advent of Talkies having theater and vaudeville experience to take advantage of the new opportunities. He was first featured in comedy shorts, but not too many, although he was often the main character. At times, he worked with Shemp Howard or Danny Kaye. In 1945, he appeared in his first full length drama, The Southerner, then Scarlet Street. Both were good roles for him and his career began to take off. I found no mention of a wife or children.
