Exploring the North End of Central Park, Part 1
How many times have I been to Central Park? Hundreds, including one hilariously disastrous day when I decided to explore behind the Conservatory Gardens. How many of those times had I visited the Harlem Meer at the northern end of the park? ZERO.
So, today I visited the northern edge of the park, where I walked through the North Woods and saw the Blockhouse, Nutter’s Battery, and the Harlem Meer. I saw lots of wildlife, including geese, ducks, turtles, and adorable dogs out for a stroll.
I also visited the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center and got some great intel on the old Kingsbridge Road ... but you’ll learn about that in part 2 ...
