Monday 1 June: The Bogside Artists I traveled to Derry today. It is beautiful out here. We met with the Bogside artists: three men who have been keeping the voices of the innocent alive since the troubles in Ireland. There are 12 murals throughout the Bogside that try to maintain an impartial stand point to give a voice to the people caught in the conflict. Honestly, it was a cold and rainy and I was so taken aback and consumed by some of the individual stories from the conflict that I had a hard time concentrating on the tour and the history of the area. I wish it had taken place on a better day so I could have appreciated it more.
