I'm Losing - Briks
Wild, wired, and wonderfully ragged
I'm Losing : fuzzed-out frustration wrapped in two minutes of pure garage fire.
This is the A-side of "It's Your Choice" which I posted last year.

1965
The Briks, though relatively obscure and short-lived, were part of a fertile scene that gave rise to Texan bands like The Zakary Thaks and The Five Americans.
“It’s Your Choice” stands as a quintessential cut from that era—moody, defiant, and undeniably compelling.

9/28/23 Album Recap
No ranking this time. Same rating for different reasons.
The Briks/The Basement Wall - Texas Punk: Volume 8 1986 Kinda funny story how I got this. I heard the song, "It's Your Choice" by The Briks and wanted to get more into this old and obscure Texas punk band. Buuuut- I was an idiot and bought volume 8 instead of volume 6 where the song was from [oops]. Anyways I'm gonna try to make an Vinyl Spotlight in the future 'cause more forgotten bands like this need attention. It's good and fuzzy, I'll reveal that much. Will put a link to the song I discovered them from at the bottom.
3.5/5
Genesis - A Trick Of The Tail 1976
Now this is a funny little album isn't it? At first I was thinking, "Ehh, it's not that good." but I started to like it after the first two songs. Feels like I'll need to dive for background information and give it another listen before I can really cement how I feel about this. It's got some interesting instrumentation, with "Mad Man Moon" being a decently pretty song. It's hard to describe how weird this album feels to me. Is it on purpose? Guess I'll have to find out. Will maybe have to change the rating in the future. But for now...
3.5/5
Back to the cellar with me tomorrow. I'll have more chances to listen to music this weekend with the drawback being it's digital only. So no Vinyl Spotlights or Showcases until the weekend is over. Sorry~
