My love for the music of Phil Sutton has been well documented here over the years whether with The Pale Lights, The Soft City, or Love, Burns. Now that The Pale Lights has gone on permanent hiatus, we are left with Love, Burns as the main vehicle for Sutton's music.

"Dear Carol/Drawn Together" is the first single since Love, Burns has taken over pole position of Sutton's bands. He is joined by Kyle Forrester (Crystal Stilts), Hannes Müller (The BV's) and Rachel Evans (Comet Gain).

This is being released by UK label Spinout Nuggets although Sutton has about 20 copies on his own Love, Burns (Brooklyn, New York) Bandcamp page for sale.

Over four years ago, one of my favorite releases in recent memory landed in my mitts. Joe Ghatt (Auckland, New Zealand) "Banana Sludge" came out on both Third Eye Stimuli and Six Tonnes de Chair. It had a joyous 60's psych vibe.

Nearly 5 years later, Ghatt's follow-up is ready. Again a co-release - this time between three labels, adding Atlanta label Echodelick Records (a new label to me).

There is only one song, "Always Remember", but if that song is a harbinger for the entire album, then I expect a smoother, fuller sound, replete with a dancier feel. This song wouldn't sound out of place on Gruff Rhys' new "Sadness Sets Me Free". French artist Laure Briard and UK band The BV's assist on the song "Orange October".
