shion and rena are very different but also very similar and they're similar in a way that makes me incredibly insane. they both have constructed facades to hide their more unsavory attributes behind, they both have incredibly deep channels of anger, frustration, and love running within them, and will go to such extraordinary lengths to protect their happiness and will fight for the people they care for with such ferocity that you are incapable of ignoring them. where they differ in those latter sentiments is how much more willing shion is to be loud and unabashedly confrontational, while rena hangs back and bites her tongue. but both are like, just as pissed at the end of the day. it's awesome. they have such a fantastic dynamic when they do interact with one another. lies down on the floor.
