Hi, I recently saw your version of The Goon as the corruptor and I loved the design and the overall concept; you summarized all the headcanons I used to have about him.

I made a little fan art; I'm not the best artist, but I hope you like it.

The Corruptor

imo "the Goon" is what Eli and the others called him bc the ghouled name of his species is literally Goon Doc + they literally had no time to ask him his name as he immediately started shooting them

(fr I do draw in an anime style so if you like my stuff you gotta get used to it like how I draw other fandoms too)

I do give him a personal name as well + since I do speak Chinese, there are meanings behind them:

Name before Corruption: Yuling | 愈灵- healing spirit/soul

Name after Corruption: Yiqiu | 意囚- prisoner in the consciousness/trapped in the mind (could also be "define prison/imprisonment" as 意 is defined literally as meaning/purpose/definition, I could yap about his name for ages)

In my AU I put him as going independent from the Emperor after he got sent to the 99. He resents the Emperor with every fibre of his being as the Emperor is the reason he can never be uncorrupted. Literally the first thing he says in GFB is "I serve no man, men serve me". That goes so hard.

I'm a Joo-Joo fan but I also enjoy the Goon. The concept of a ghoul having human-level self-awareness, intelligence and cognitive thinking is a great addition to Slugterra lore. Ghoul From Beyond both was cool and freaked me out as a kid but also made me invested in what this could mean for the lore.

Has anyone talked about he can actually do because I think it's incredible:

Has insane general knowledge of a lot of things

Can ghoul slugs using his magic; or literal physical contact with another slug

When transformed, he doesn't need to use magic, grabbing them works as well (can be done also to the Elementals which is cracked)

Mind control people and use them as a host/puppet that will never tire, age, or die

Also can heal said host of any injury including broken bones, internal bleeding almost instantly

Senses the ghouling process

Read minds

Detect literal life force of people so that he knows whether they're alive/dead

Communicate via telepathy (idk what range, but apparently mental projection/via telepathy + he knows English and can speak English)

I'm calling him the Corruptor as well in my headcanons, so if anyone sees me say the Corruptor I mean this lil guy

I headcanon the Emperor's Underlords call him that as a formal title. Him with possessed Junjie is referred to as the Dark Slinger, just him is the Corruptor.

Also don't forget how he was once a Guardian of the Eastern Gate keeping the Emperor at bay, that part of his lore is so angsty I could dissect it in an essay
