"Good idea!" said Kylo springing out of his chair, but almost immediately he regretted it for two of the locals who had acquired a job rushed to his side and he felt the need to run! Strangely, they had this inevitable need to bombard him with endless list of sincere apologies that made him all but want to vomit.
"Sorry to bother you....again, Kylo, but Mr. Sanchez is beginning to feel a little nausea's with all the horse-back riding, and it probably would have been good to mention before that he's terrified of heights!"
"Get me down! Get me down!"
"So get him down and give him some fucking pills. Problem solved." said Kylo brushing the two gentlemen away with a wave of his hand before he returned to his phone check status reports and of course the latest updates on film back in L.A.
This shoot in Spain was only meant to last a few short days--now it had extended into a month-long crisis. Kylo was precise in what look he wanted and yet none of the shoots they had managed to get were to his liking...at all. "The concept of this whole thing is ridiculous." Kylo told his production assistant as they sat down on a prop being used the giant in one of their scenes.
"But this was your concept from the very beginning, Kylo! This was your idea to come to Spain in the first place---the inspiration of it all!" His production assistant pleaded. "I've got fucking Hux breathing down my bloody neck; asking whether you've nearly finished with this location and ready to pop onto the next!"
"Yeah...thanks for the reminder.....uhh..Phillip, right?" said Kylo ignoring him to run over to his make-up artist; Sarah. Phillip hung his head and stormed off the set towards the cars they had been renting and sped off back to their main headquarters. From the very start he believed hiring Kylo Ren was a complete joke. He might be good at what he does professionally but the rest of him was a laughing stock. "Sarah....hey, Sarah!"
"It's Melissa!" She corrected him with her fluent Spanish accent as she flipped through a stack of papers she was carrying. No doubt someone from the set had asked her to deliver them to their screen-writer for some minor corrections.
"Whatever." He said grabbing by her by the waist; tossing the large stack of papers out of her hands and casting them to the winds. "Shall we dance?"
"He's completely mucking up our production....completely mucking it up! What the bloody hell am I supposed to tell Hux when he comes into town tonight and asks me what footage we've got done, huh? Buggers!" cried Phillip; running his hand across his face and smearing the sunscreen in a nervous wreck.
Armitage Hux--a highly praised individual in the Hollywood realm who had seen some of Kylo's earliest films when he was a film-student studying UCLA and was currently employing him to shoot this commercial for him. While he liked Kylo's work...he always had a sneaky suspicion that he was sleeping with his twenty-three year old wife, Mara Jade. She had such a lust for life, art and beauty so it wasn't exactly like she didn't fit in around her husband's friends and colleagues!
"We're pushing the budget too far out--yes, I've already told them that!"
"No, no we cannot do that, Chris!"
"We have no choice in the matter---if we don't--Hux gave us explicit instructions on how he wanted this whole thing to be shot and edited!"
This was the new norm for Kylo as he sat in complete silence around a group of strangers arguing relentlessly over the same bullshit day in and day out about budget-cuts, actors, the flow of the commercial itself. God, I need a fucking drink! Suddenly as soon as the waiter had dropped off bottled-water at their table, Phillip stood up and grabbed the gentleman by the scruff of his collar and yanked him to the side.
"How many fucking times have I told you---ugh, if anything happens to me after I've drank this fucking water you just gave me, I will personally shit down your fucking throat!"
Upon hearing his producer threaten the locals---Kylo felt this was his que to leave. He had, had enough brainless arguments for one day and sought to seek solitude in his hotel room to be alone with his thoughts. They shoot had gone badly--and he was lacking the inspiration that he sorely needed.
"Well, now that our producer Phillip here has so graciously gone to great lengths to terrorize our waiter on our water supply, I'd like to say Buenos Noches folks! I'll let you all finish sorting this shit out!"
"You can't just go, Kylo!" said Phillip; adjusting his paperwork as he sat back down. "We need you here, Kylo--talking with us, expressing your concerns and ideas!"
"No, clearly you don't." said Kylo rising to his feet and grabbing his jacket off the back of his chair. The sooner he got out of this hell-hole the better! Who the fuck hired these fucking idiots anyway?! They wouldn't know shit about creativity even if it hit them square in the face!
"You're not going anywhere....you're the epic, fucking creative genius here not us!" Phillip hissed.
"Glad you caught on to that one, Phillip....took you much longer the last time." said Kylo sarcastically. "But I can't just sit here all night watching all of you bitching and groaning at each other about this petty bullshit that's like a broken record on fucking repeat! I need space---or otherwise we might as well scrap this whole project and throw it all to fucking kingdom come!"
"Yes...you can and you will." It wasn't even a direct request; it was a command and in Kylo's personal experience in dealing with producers in the past....it was not something he was going put up with, not while he was in charge of how the shoot was going to go.
Rupert shifted nervously in his seat--he was normally never one to standing up for himself let alone for other people. You fucking coward. You're supposed to have my back on this, Kylo thought as he looked down at him for some sort of backup.
"My client doesn't have to answer your questions." said Rupert hesitantly. "He has the fully right to express his thoughts and opinions like the rest of us and if he wishes to leave---"
"Oh fuck you, squeaky!" said Phillips; throwing a rolled up napkin at this face to shut him up. It worked---Rupert hunkered down and didn't speak another word. It was then that Kylo kicked his chair forward and leaned for far in that he and Phillips were literally nose to nose.
"Well fuck you too, Sanders!" said Kylo in a deep low voice.
