The Demonata always lives rent free on the mind lmao Kah-Gash Trio back at it again
Happy Halloween! I really enjoyed this lazy take on inktober and going back through my last two sketchbooks to see what doodles deserved a second look. Inking is by far my least favourite step so it was good to feel less precious about the starting sketch (yes I skipped a day sue me ig)
With that I need to get back into sketching and might open up requests if there any interest I always enjoy doing it
➺Ranking My Beloved Books (aka: Hurt Me With Mentor–Student Bonds)
⋆。゚☁︎ 。⋆。 ゚。⋆ ☾ 。゚⋆ ☁︎ 。⋆。 ゚ ゚。⋆
If I were to rank my most cherished books, they would be:
_ The monstrumologist
Rick yancey
_ cirque du freak / The demonata
Darren shan
_ The graveyard book
Neil Gaiman
_ The blackthorn key
Kevin Sands
Then I realize they share a commonality, which is my preferred style of tragic narratives :
【 The doomed dynamic between a mentor and a student 】
So ... If you have something like that in hand , call me🥂
I love the way Darren Shan describes bloodlust. This isn't quite on the level of the feeding frenzy from Ocean of Blood (that one somehow manages to make my mouth water), but I love love love the phrasing of "their mouths are wet with lust"
Most horrific thought on the Wolfman in Cirque du Freak if you wanted to connect it with his other series The Demonata.
Wolfman was one of the cursed Grady's who turned but family was unable to kill them/ failed against Lord Loss??? (But let the inflicted live because mmm suffering idk)
Some how or another Mr. Tall probably getting his hands on them and protecting them by keeping them caged.
Quite possibly already having accepted there may one a day when they will have to put the Wolfman down but until then at least offers them some kind of life despite their form.
The thing about Darren Shan books is that when a character is introduced, that character Will die a violent, gruesome and sudden death and there is nothing you can do to stop it
Old Creature + the whatever I made beneath it
