These Mad Dogs Need Heroes - The Everymen
June 2016
What these ‘Mad Dogs’ really need is way better music. This album was generic as indie rock music comes. Very average vocals and just overall boring. This is what I would expect a 30 year old who wants to be cool wearing a fedora would listen to. If I had to describe it in one word it would be bad. Do not recommend at all. They have a lyric that says “hush little baby” and it’s so creepy.

Mondo.NYC Roundup Day 3: Organised Scum // Carnival Youth
Our Mondo Friday was cut short for several reasons, but we managed to get into Pianos to see London band Organised Scum, who convinced especially with their newer material.
After a quick dinner break and a glimpse at The Everymen, Carnival Youth took the stage. The young Latvian four-piece were on their first trip to New York and I’m sure we were not the only ones they could win over as new fans: their smart brand of indie pop with multi-way vocals, foremost by drummer Edgars Kaupers are catchy and delightful. Watch out for an interview with them here on glamglare.
The Everymen - Yuppie War Anthem
Sometimes an old song comes on shuffle and it hits the spot. A Calgary classic from my youth.

Pairs Well With…The Hold Steady, The New Pornographers, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band
A New Jersey band that sounds just like New Jersey, The Everymen are hitting the road again in 2016 and maybe will even have some new tunes up their sleeves to follow up 2014’s bursting, punk-infused rock jam Givin’ Up On Free Jazz. To tide the year over, The Everymen did drop a cassette for your next Trans Am road trip, featuring a mix of classic and alt rock cover songs, all energetically pitched clean over the plate.
2015 Review: The Everymen are a cross between an emotional indie rock outfit and the E Street Band, often erupting their songs into an uprising of horns and guitars. That wave of sound is the immediate highlight, but these guys are great pop/rock songwriters and know how to keep a mean jam. Most of their songs do mostly stick to big rock numbers, but they also range well from classic (the Elvis Costello-like “Ain’t Good Enough For You”) to modern pop (“A Girl Named Lou Pt. 2”, “Spain”).
