with your hands / bard + tauriel
The day was coming to a close. Tauriel had had a mostly quiet afternoon -- which wasn't unusual for her, but still, it was rare. Only a small portion of her morning was spent on paperwork and decisions, but the rest of the day she had to herself. On the infrequent occasion that Tauriel did get time off, she usually did something productive; something that she never got time to do during her work hours. Something she liked and enjoyed doing. But today, things... just sort of fell through. She went for coffee and ended up staying there for most of the day, alternating from playing on her phone to grabbing her laptop to ordering more coffee and pastries at the front desk. Tauriel looked and felt like a bum, wasting her life away doing nothing all day, but she was actually subconsciously working. She didn't even realize it until evening fell, but she was just so used to her job that it was something that automatically happened -- spying on members of the Ereborian mafia.
When Tauriel realized this she was a bit disgusted. She was very involved with her job, but that's not to say she enjoyed every bit and piece of it. Even on a day off, when she should be happily enjoying time to herself, or her perhaps with her sister, she was working. Angered and confused, Tauriel checked online to see if her sister was home yet, or if any of her friends had anything else to say. Bard was the one person she managed to have a conversation with, even if he was aching and in pain. He flirted and doted with her, which she found amusing and humorous. But she was feeling abnormally sympathetic on that night, so she decided to bring over pain killers for him, for his... dancing aches. That was quite funny too.
But, though she would not admit it openly, she was also checking on Bard to see what kind of a person he really was. Lia spoke highly of him, and the man had a reputation. Tauriel trusted only herself to confirm or deny the words that people spoke of him.
It wasn't a long drive from the coffee shop back to her apartment, and she was back in no time. To Tauriel's misfortune, Lia wasn't home yet, and she briefly worried that something bad might have happened. But Lia always told her how overprotective she was, and Tauriel dismissed her concerned feelings as brash thoughts. Instead of dwelling on the topic, which would be unhealthy, Tauriel grabbed the medicine and a sweatshirt and headed back out to her car. It was getting cold out, and she could see her breath in the air. She turned the heater on right away, but her car was old and faulty and the change in temperature was small.
The dwelling was not hard to find, and Bard was not lying when he said his door was unlocked. Tauriel scrambled in and shut the door behind her, shivering with cold. "Hi there," She said briefly, only for introduction. She was too chilly to say much else. She saw him out of the corner of her eye, lying on the ground with a laptop on his chest, and she smiled faintly. But she otherwise welcomed herself into his house and found his kitchen quickly, grabbing a glass out of a cabinet and filling it with water. "I've brought your medicine," She called over her shoulder. Tauriel, though never having been in his house, had a knack for finding things, and it wasn't hard to make her way around Bard's foreign residence.
