Above: the first issue of Our Cats, as documented by CFA itself. We initially took this to be a clever contemporary satire, and had to visit Cat-o-pedia to be convinced otherwise. There’s a wealth of material here, and it’s especially enjoyable because the site uses a shortened term, “the fancy,” when referring to the activities of cat-fanciers, as in:

“[F]or well over 120 years, no concerted effort had been made by any major registry around the world, to safeguard and pool together, important artifacts and documents relevant to the distant and ongoing history of the fancy.”
