As a kid I casually watched gymnastics when the Olympics came around. I watched gymnastics in 2004 and 2008. It wasn’t until 2012 that I became an invested fan who watched all year long. The reason I became a fan was seeing the accomplishments of The Fierce Five. Those five gymnasts have always had a special place in my gymnerd heart for getting me invested in the sport. It breaks my heart knowing that all five of them were abused. I wish them all the best and applaud them for their bravery in speaking out, as well as all the other brave survivors who have spoken out.
