Even though the flu is absolutely horrible and I would not wish it on my worst enemy, in fiction the concept of a character being completely trashed by the flu is Intense(tm)
Being unable to leave their bed because everything hurts, even blinking is painful in a way they never imagined was possible
Having zero interest in food but they need something in their system and by gosh their caretaker is going to try
4+ days out of work feeling miserable but also missing working because at least it was something to do instead of coughing until the cows come home
Just the incredible speed it takes for the symptoms to get in full swing. Waking up feeling like an average cold is coming on and then later in the day feeling like they just got hit by a truck
The flu freaking sucks ass. Been sick since last Saturday. Fever finally broke this morning. My sister and I got tested for Covid. Thankfully, it was negative for both of us. I thought I felt crappy after having surgery last year, but I think this topped it. I'm finally starting to get my appetite back.

Okay, good. Sounds like a plan. I’m sick, I’m miserable, I could some some more sleep. Plus, I’m already pretty tired, so this should just push me over the edge, right?
