Another one that is really, to me, much more of a tragedy than a horror film. I love this one, and though it may be less shocking than its 80s remake, I think it still holds up very well with its slow, but dreadful and anxiety inducing, pacing up to the reveal of Dr Delambre’s horrifically transformed body— which is also slowly destroying his mind and the nerves of his loving wife and brother. This one is also worth watching, at the very least, for a very understated performance from Vincent Price compared to his many zanier horror roles.
