This is a piece of fanart I put together this year to celebrate one of my favourite games, Donkey Kong Country 2, and its final battle arena, the Flying Krock, as well as the corpulent crocodile who awaits inside (not pictured). The environment was designed to be a reimagining of the environment as if the game was to be remade today, with a bunch of extra set dressing and design changes to the environment.
I used this environment as a way to teach myself to use procedural materials in Designer to Painter, which was quite efficient and sped up texturing greatly as well as tying the scene together. I used a cheeky bit of Megascans for decals and trash here and there, but everything else was made from scratch.
Let me know what you think!
