The Fourth Date || Joseph & Brie
Through a series of mishaps - Joseph finds himself in Brie’s kitchen, wearing borrowed pajamas (whose, he doesn’t even want to know) with Brie standing before him in an extremely flattering piece of lingerie, tending to a sizable gash in his left cheek.
She’s confessed her plan to leave town for a while, to put distance between them, which he’s admitted would leave him with an empty heart. It’s something he might not have said aloud were it not for the fact that he is still quite under the influence of several whiskies from earlier in the evening. “…but yesterday … you made it seem like a reproachable thing to have happened.” Brie had said regarding their kiss two days prior. Again Joseph shakes his head. She thinks he regretted kissing her! “Not because of you, God not you!” Joseph stands so he can look her in the eyes, wiling her to see the sincerity of his words, a crease forming between his brows. “I apologized because I had no business…starting something I couldn’t finish.” He continues trying to explain. “I stole a kiss from you and could offer you nothing in return. I’m…a priest” He says the word like it’s a disease, ruefully searching her eyes for understanding. “I can give you nothing,” he shrugs. “I have nothing.” If things were different he would give her the world. She deserves it. How pathetic he feels. @true-loves-kiss-opens-door
