the problem i am having IRL at the moment is that I have to bite my knuckles when my coworker (who published a couple of mediocre smut books through amazon Forever ago and believes that this makes her an Authority on the subject in general) is convinced that she can "immediately recognize whether something was written with AI/ChatGPT" because of certain punctuation use and sentence structure, and then she goes on to literally describe common writing hallmarks of fanfiction which have bled into mainstream and which AIs have notoriously been trained on
