Eleri’s Eight Sentence Rule!

Found this in my notes from Comic Art Workshop recently. Eleri is a comics editing gun and she’s done a tonne of work on my book. It’s so much of a better graphic novel because of it, plus she’s saved my wrist by helping me cut roughly a hundred pages.

Eleri also added that if she gets stuck while scripting her own comics (or editing someone’s script) she assigns each page eight numbered bullet points and writes to those, which I’ll definitely be stealing in the future.

Big advocate for reading badly written but very sincere genre books as often as possible. If writers don’t recalibrate periodically with stories about creatures offensive to nature that were born in vats, diabolical machinations of evil wizards, physically improbable sex scenes with lots of throbbing etc etc, we forget that fiction is made up and that writing should be fun

I wanted to find a reference image of a photographer holding a camera sideways yesterday for my graphic novel pencils and it was SURPRISINGLY CHALLENGING... until I found this guy.

His powerful vibes have made me feel like... maybe I should just draw him into my book?? Look at this.

His name is Bruce Lovelace and he runs a totally free photography website to help other photographers learn because he wants to make an impact on the world after receiving a cancer diagnosis. A legend of a man!
